(PRWEB) October 9, 2009 -- FatCow (www.fatcow.com), a leader in web hosting services for individuals and small businesses, has launched a library of 1000 free web icons suitable for both PC (XP, Vista) and Mac (OS X) users, now available for download. In an effort to make a contribution to the web design community, the beautifully designed icons are free to the public for any type of use.
The extensive set of free icons includes popular RSS feed, iPod, Twitter and emoticon options, as well as a variety of application commands. The flexible set offers both 16- and 32-pixel versions of each icon, perfect for design applications, custom templates and personal use. Additional versions, suitable for desktop and Photoshop use, will soon be offered on the site in the appropriate formats.
Because they are available under a Creative Commons 3.0 License, the icons are open to the public for any type of private or commercial use, provided that proper credit is given to FatCow, with a link to the icon page.
According to Bukhovko, FatCow is working on additions to the 1000 free web icons, and urges customers to check back with FatCow's icon page for news on what's to come. This includes a set of specialized free iPhone custom icons, currently in the works, which will allow users to give their iPhones a personalized look and feel.
